Lacy's mood improved after a nap -that is, she was dead silent when she woke up, and didn't utter a peep for the next half hour or so.
She got bundled up for a carriage ride with Grandpa and Dad,
...went out for a ride,
...and came back, still speechless. After coming back inside, we started talking to her about her ride with Grandpa and the horsie, and she finally started talking, and she didn't stop. She wanted to go on another ride. She loved it.
The holiday break was great. I love spending time with my family. We had Thanksgiving dinner at my parents' house with all my siblings and their kids. My Mom has a nice new white vinyl fence. She loves it, almost as much as Lacy loved her carriage ride.

Jill and I check the computer each morning, and she has to see your Kermit picture - she just loved the pictures from Thanksgiving. Mostly, she loved seeing Lacy give the gaze of pure disdain. Jill said, "She hates getting her picture taken right now." And who said 4 year olds can't feel empathy? Sorry to have missed you this Thanksgiving. Hope to see you for Christmas.
I should be starting my trek southward next Saturday morning. My ride only goes as far as Flagstaff, so I still need to see if I can find a ride to Joseph City from there. I'm glad Jill enjoys my photos. I sometimes wonder who's really bothering to look at what I post.

What time will you be arriving in Flag? I could come and get you. That is, if you don't mind my incessant chatter, much like that of Dear Miss Bates.
At this point, I only know that we'll be leaving early next Saturday morning. I'll let you know when I've got it all sorted out.
