You may have heard the news about the bolide meteor (also called a "fire-ball meteor") that entered the atmosphere over Southern Utah.
I was lucky enough to actually see it from Main Street right here in Rexburg.
Me and a handful of friends were out a few miles north of town watching the meteor shower for about 30 minutes before heading in for curfew. On our way back into town, at 12:07am, the sky lit up with a brilliant streak. What a site! It apparently lit up the ground as bright as day farther south in parts of Utah.
