Mmmmm -Tastes Like....

Every so often, I get a craving for this dish. My Mom used to make it for us when I was a kid. OK, so my version doesn't have bell-peppers (college budget) or Mom's special touch, but golly does it ever hit the spot! It takes me home, in a small way. Here's how I do it:
Take 3 to 4 slices of bacon -cut them into small strips, then start them frying. Add about half of a small onion, diced. Saute the onion with the bacon (this part is almost as good as the eating part. It smells so good!). After the bacon is as crispy as you like it and the onions as soft as you like them, add 2 or so cans of pork n' beans and some crushed pineapple, however much you want. Don't forget to drain the liquid off the beans and pineapple before adding, or it'll be all soupy. Let it simmer (down now) for a bit, then it's ready to serve. With my Mom's, I think the only difference is that you add diced bell pepper in to saute with the onions.
This picture is the first one I've posted that was taken with my NEW camera. Pretty dang exciting, huh? Well, now that I've had a wonderful lunch/dinner, I should probably tackle some homework. Ironic how when you attach work to home it becomes negative. The work part of the word must be carrying some extra electrons. I'll end here before the homework mixes with the blog and leaves an awful taste in your mouth.

Your mom and I must be raised the same way, I make that every once in a while myself. Over the weekend I made Steven's Simply Splendid Sticky Chicken, my boys have their own comfort food. You have influenced their lives in more ways than one.

I have a spatula just like that. That picture looks awesome!

Come to think of it, I have a more than a few extra electrons floating around my head. Can you recommend a cleanse of any kind?

I've heard of this bleach cocktail -ask your neighbors about it. Whatever you do, don't opt for the lobotomy. It's not what's it's cracked-up to be.
That spatula belongs to my roommate Parley -as does the pan. But I wash them and put them away right after I'm done with them, like a good roommate.
